It specializes in first-of-a-kind development activities that require team members to adapt quickly to groundbreaking technologies. Management team champions and encourages active collaboration and rewards strong contributors.What's Encouraged DailyAs a Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will build groundbreaking high-performance controller firmware for volatile and non-volatile memory systems. You will assist in the evaluation, creation, build, bench testing, debugging, and failure analysis of firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and Solid-State Drives (SSD) that will improve performance while reducing power, latency, and SoC (System on Chip) complexity for the target sectors. You can expect to partner with multi-disciplinary Engineers to seek multi-functional product development issues. You will triage failures, file bug reports, and help the development teams with isolating issues.How to Qualify5+ years of proven experience in the embedded systems development field is required.BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer ScienceSSD or data storage firmware development experienceProficient in C/C++, Python programming languagesExperienced with debugging firmware using tools such as GDBAdvanced working knowledge of principles, concepts, theories and/or practice of Software Engineering (i.e. design, analysis of software systems, and code refactoring)Advanced working knowledge with standard protocols NVMe, PCIe, SM-Bus, OCPProven leadership experience in a small teamA self-motivated and results-drivenAbility to multi-taskA fast learner who can apply newly acquired technical knowledge to SSD product development.Must be effective in a team environment, engaging in active conversations and contributing toward raising the team's performance.A strong growth mindset that continuously seeks out process and quality improvementAbility to deliver on a tight schedule.Strong problem-solving skills by decomposing problems into logical components that can be implemented in firmware platforms.Comfortable with in-person, onsite collaborative environmentsThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:$122,000.00 - $207,000.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
