12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Specialist 1 will work under the supervision of the Fiscal Specialist Supervisor to provide fiscal, administrative, and general office support for the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health. Main responsibilities will include independently planning, organizing, and prioritizing work, as well as providing services to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the Allen School. This will involve tasks such as reconciling Purchasing Cards, arranging travel, processing shipping and receiving, scheduling conference rooms, answering the main phone line, greeting guests, and providing other fiscal and administrative support for the Pullman office, as well as its NGO affiliates and international activities. The position is expected to work with a high level of independence, while still seeking general supervision when needed. Required Qualifications: Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Understanding of and physical eligibility required for working in a BSL-2 environment. See the following link for more information:
Experience and proficiency working with computers and computer software, including spreadsheets.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external individual and groups.
Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional work experience in an higher education environment.
Professional work experience in day to day financial administration including, but not limited to, purchasing, budgeting and revenue.
Experience working with databases.
Knowledge of Access, Smartsheet.
Experience working at WSU, including familiarity with WSU systems,including Workday

Range 40 | $3,376 to $4,497 (Step A-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
