Job Summary:
The Northwest Commission, an eight-county regional economic development agency, is seeking a full-time

Fiscal Specialist

to provide accounting and administrative support to the Fiscal Director and ensure proper accountability of all monetary systems.
Responsibilities (The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following):
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and daily deposits
- Process loan program transactions including checks, recording transfers, ACH deposits and journal entries
- Process bi-weekly agency payroll including accompanying payments and journal entries
- Complete journal entries for day-to-day operations
- Check bank accounts daily for posted transactions and monitoring purposes, transfer funds, subject to approval
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and other tools for financial management
- Print, gather and send information for 990 & Bureau of Charitable Organizations (BCO) filing
- Prepare and distribute 1099 forms; submit W-9s, tax exemption certificates and certificates of liability insurance to requesting companies
- Provide quarterly federal financial, payroll tax reports and other reports as required
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and data entry
- Ability to perform clerical tasks related to accounting functions
- Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Maintain high-level of attention to detail and confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Associate degree in accounting or related business field preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience

- 35-hour workweek (Non-exempt)
