Salary Range: $63,052.00-$78,815.00/annum
**APPLICANT MUST HAVE A VALID, UNRESTRICTED INSURABLE DRIVERS LICENSE** **RESUMES AND REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED** ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides oversight of the following Wellness department staff: Medical Support Assistants, Administrative and Membership Specialist, Wellness Aides, and Massage Therapists.Manages day-to-day gym operations with oversight from the Director of Wellness & Fitness.Ensures adequate staff coverage at front desk and fitness floor on a daily basis. Works closely with department supervisors and leads on staff scheduling to ensure all services are provided in a safe manner.Oversees, plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates massage therapy services, including program coordination, scheduling, and maintaining inventory of supplies.Develops, monitors and reviews performance evaluations and counsels employee regarding leave, performance, discipline and conduct.Counsels staff to resolve job related performance and attendance concerns in accordance with FDIHB Personnel Policy and Procedures.Approves and disapproves personal and sick leave based on workload. Maintains employee training needs and may develop yearly staff development plans.Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates fitness programs and events within fitness area; establishes partnership and collaboration for resources, data collection and evaluation methods.Collaborates with Wellness Department Supervisors and Healthy Living & Outreach Managers on programs, events and initiatives to ensure all Wellness department sectors are serviced properly.Coordinates and oversees new member registration and routine update of registration forms of all fitness center users.Ensures proper maintenance and sanitation of fitness center, massage equipment and supplies.Coordinates, plans and evaluates group fitness classes with Wellness staff, contract and volunteer instructors. Tasks included are creating group fitness schedules and marketing.Communicate essential information in a timely manner to front desk, leads, supervisors and fitness staff.Utilizes latest fitness research and medical knowledge in providing and evaluating health and fitness services.Provides input on the selection and ordering of fitness equipment; monitors all major and minor equipment through inventory and tracking.Assumes responsibility for fitness center budget development, fiscal monitoring and expenditures.Completes all departmental monthly reports and forms in order to properly track patient, program and employee progress.Upon review, has authority to accept, reject or amend assignments and projects. Assumes responsibility for reviewing completed work assignments and projects.Provides assistance in developing and updating policies and procedures for effective operations of the fitness center.Coordinates meetings with Wellness staff and healthcare professionals to review procedures and protocols for services offered in the fitness center.Prepares data collection and reporting for all services provided.Provides consultation to professional and paraprofessional staff and to other programs at the local, tribal, state, and federal levels regarding the effects of exercise on chronic disease.Promotes health and wellness activities via telephone, social-media, internet and other communication options.Participates in routine records maintenance in compliance with the Privacy Act, HIPAA and FDIHB policies.Performs duties as assigned to meet organizational goals, objectives, and obligations for the improvement in the quality of services provided for patient care.Communicates with vendors and establishes service contracts of equipment purchases.Provides direct patient care services, group fitness classes and miscellaneous group activities when needed.Sustains a professional relationship with all partnerships.Performs other duties as assigned.MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Two (2) years of direct work experience as a Fitness Specialist or exercise related field and One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or lead position.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field.
Certified Personal Trainer by an accredited organization such as American College of Sports Medicine, Cooper Institute, National Strength and Conditioning Association, SCW or similar.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External.
