Are you a detail-oriented and results-driven professional with experience in fleet maintenance? Our client, a renowned company in the transportation industry, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team. As the Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring their safe and efficient performance.
Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet maintenance program: Ensure adherence to schedules and regulations, minimizing downtime through cutting-edge technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (finance, procurement, etc.) to develop budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-effective practices, contributing to financial sustainability. Coordinate maintenance and repairs, guaranteeing compliance with industry best practices, fostering a safety-first culture. Lead and empower a skilled team of technicians: Provide guidance, ongoing training, and leadership to optimize performance and efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through cooperative programs and initiatives. Supervise and lead technicians, conducting daily huddles, fleet walks, coaching, counseling, and training on performance and corrective actions. Identify training opportunities, document issues, and engage in constructive discussions on corrective actions. Optimize fleet performance and efficiency: Monitor and evaluate fleet performance, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency. Utilize fleet maintenance management systems and technologies to streamline operations and enhance overall productivity. Manage comprehensive data collection for operational and financial reporting, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making. Oversee repair diagnostics on complex matters, providing coaching where necessary; may road test vehicles to determine repairs. Ensure seamless collaboration and compliance: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure the availability of spare parts and materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels for efficient maintenance operations. Ensure accurate maintenance records and documentation are maintained, providing insightful reports and analysis as required for informed decision-making. Partner with the executive management team and relevant departments to achieve fleet compliance excellence, creating a safe and compliant working environment. Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure high-quality work aligned with safety procedures and regulations. Review and approve expenses within budget constraints, escalating larger expenses or major repairs as appropriate. Requirements Experience and Skills: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance management, with a proven track record of success. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of technicians. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of fleet maintenance practices and procedures, including knowledge of various vehicle systems. Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding maintenance strategies. Budget Management: Experience in developing and managing maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective practices and efficient resource allocation. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, including technicians, management, and procurement teams. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work, with a focus on accuracy and precision in documentation and reporting. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions. Technical Education: Possess a relevant technical degree or certification in fleet maintenance or a related field. Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in fleet maintenance management software and other relevant computer applications. Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
