**** Walk-in Thursday (10am-12pm) and Friday (11am-1pm)****Please have resume on handPay: $38.00 per hour based on experienceSchedule:Monday – Thursday from 6AM to 4:30PMSign on bonus for New Hires: up to $15,000?Uniforms Paid For$600.00 Annual Boot and Tool allowanceOutstanding benefits - www.syscobenefits.com?Training provided to include OEM training, Thermo King Training, EPA trainingExcellent full time career with a stable and growing companyMove your Career FORWARD with SYSCO FOODS!JOB SUMMARYTo provide safe, reliable and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair as required to prevent breakdowns on road, reduce vehicle downtime and improve total fleet reliability.RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms supervisory roles when the fleet supervisors or manager is not accessible.Mentor, teach and share expertise with the fleet technician I and II to aid in their development to positions of greater responsibility.Expressed desire to advance to management positions of greater authority.Demonstrates clear and concise decision-making skills related to fleet repair and availability of fleet for operations teams.Provides clear communication and reporting to the fleet supervisor or manager on a daily basis.Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles within planned time tolerances.Maximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies. (Includes all state-required inspections and frequencies).Address all driver vehicle inspection report write ups timely, and efficiently.Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but not limited to transport refrigeration systems, engines, transmissions and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC and Refrigeration systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.Follow procedures including documenting all work performed on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format.Learn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programsOperates competently within designated parameters and communicates upward before exceeding those parameters.QUALIFICATIONSEducationHeavy Duty truck technical trainingHigh school diploma requiredCurrent and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred, Not Required)Experience2-year school and 4 years of experience or5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair1-year experience in a leadership role (preferred)Certifications, Licenses and/or RegistrationsAnnual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBrake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred, Not Required)Mobile Refrigeration (EPA 608) Type II Certification preferred.Mobile Air Conditioning (EPA 609) Certification preferred.Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturersThe technician must provide own tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnosticsProfessional SkillsExpert knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and componentsExpert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipmentExpert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of refrigeration systems (Expert knowledge and skill in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repairModerate knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)Moderate computer skills and knowledgeExpert knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulationsModerate knowledge of OSHA safety regulationsModerate knowledge of environmental regulationsPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to sit and must frequently lift and/or move up to 75lbs.The employee is Repair work requires excellent hand and finger dexterity used for wrenches, hand tools, and other shop equipment.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to operate various pieces of equipmentAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend, reachAbility to push/pullAbility to lift /carryAbility to grasp toolsAbility to perform Repetitive motion: wrenches and hand toolsWorking conditions: Frequently works outdoors.Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (diesel engine noise and shop equipment).
