What is JetZero? Today's aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.  
JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we're hiring a Flight Deck Design Engineer. You will be responsible for the integration, and life-cycle success of the Flight deck and Avionics systems. You will coordinate between the various departments - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Software, Lab and Flight Test, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations - as necessary to ensure the technical success of the Flight Deck and Avionics System.  You will ensure your systems comply with all federal airworthiness regulations.

This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the ?Environmental Control Lead Engineer.What You'll DoDesign and develop aircraft systems using Model Based Definition (MBD) principles and tools.Establish and maintain the Digital environment, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of product data throughout the product lifecycle.Generate, review, and/or approve:Engineering drawings and design specificationsDesign engineering processes and manualsConduct multi-disciplinary design reviews internally and with suppliers throughout the phases of developmentYou will coordinate between the various departments - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aircraft systems, Lab, Flight Test, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations - as necessary to ensure the technical success of the Flight Deck and Avionics System.Experience in Flight Deck & Avionics Systems installation (preferred)Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communicationProficient in 3D CAD. Experience with Siemens NX using Teamcenter PDM preferredExperience with general hardware specification (LRUs, flanges, clamps, etc.)Experience with composites and manufacturing processesExperience with in-house design and manufactured partsGenerate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5Detailed understanding of civil aviation standards and practicesUnderstanding of material selection and basic stress principleHelpful Traits You have a Startup Mindset – We are a small team with big ambitions. Minimum 5 years of experience in system design for Part 25 airplanes. 
Experience with Part 25 airplanes development.
Experience with software tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens NX, and Microsoft Project preferred.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
