At Skyways we are building a new form of air transportation. Some people call it the flying car. We believe fully autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles represent a unique opportunity to move things and ultimately people in new, more efficient ways. Our strategy to get there is completely different from the rest of the industry.
Skyways is a startup based in Austin, TX. We are backed by some of the most respected investors in Silicon Valley including YCombinator. Although we consider ourselves early-stage, we already have vehicles in production and in the hands of paying customers (see here and here). \n ResponsibilitiesEnsure safe flight operationsEnsure safe flight operations (we really mean it!)Help with all Flight Test Operations, from pre-flying the vehicles to checking all systems are go before launch, monitoring telemetry during flights, flying recovery maneuvers, and assisting with post-flight operationsAssist with producing flight test reports and provide your feedback to the rest of the team regarding how to automate flight ops and improve reliabilityHelp build, repair, and manufacture large UAVs RequirementsPPL or better, UAS Pilot LicenseFAA Medical Certificate (or ability to get one)Experience with >55lb UAVs, at least 100hrsExperience with building and maintaining aircraftWilling to start early and/or finish late depending on weatherAbility to carry heavy loads and work outside for extended periods of time
