Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.
Primary Duties Operate and care for the forklift in a safe mannerLoad and unload trailers, including sheet orders with or without palletsTake finished product from the unitizer line and store in proper locations in the shipping department; this includes the shipping line in the corrugator.
Scan all units into proper locationsCheck units and load tags for accuracy; report any problems to supervision as they occurComplete and document a forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift; turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairsEnsure that all units loaded on trailers for delivery have proper number of bands in proper locations, adequate cover sheets, adequate stretch wrap if necessary, and any other details which may affect the appearance or protection of the unitsLocate stock before the start of the runDeliver appropriate stock to appropriate machinesRemove finished goods from machinesMaintain, neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areasMaintain accurate location of stock ins storage area by paperwork/ computerTransfer units manually in the computerLook up history of unitized inventoryHand unitize units as necessaryHand wrap units together as necessaryComplete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely mannerAssist other forklift operators as necessaryFollow LOTO proceduresNotify supervision of needed repairsRegular and timely attendance required.Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeepingLearn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures.
