As a freight broker, you'll be at the center of our logistics operation. Your day will start with reviewing shipments, engaging carriers, and analyzing market trends. You'll negotiate rates, solve logistical problems, and build strong relationships with customers and carriers. Each day will present a new and unique challenge in a dynamic environment.

Collaborate closely with clients and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments.Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers to ensure coverage of freight. Monitor shipment movements and update the transportation management system (TMS) with accurate information.Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to maximize profit margins. Analyze carrier performance to ensure the safe movement of freight, on-time pickup/delivery.Identify and resolve issues that occur during the shipment process. Excellent communication skills, having the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals. Demonstrable ability to negotiate rates with customers and carriers to ensure profitability.Strong time management skills, possessing the ability to manage one's own time in an environment with competing deadlines and changing priorities.The ability to analyze and understand market trends. High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or a similar role; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Employment is contingent upon completion of the SPD employment process (including a background check). Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field and at least two (2) years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage or a similar role; an equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.Previous experience with a transportation management system (TMS), McLeod is strongly preferred. Salary: $25.00 per hour.Schedule: Full-time on-site, Monday to Friday; 07:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
