Job Overview:
The Overnight Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and provides support security support during overnight hours.
This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to address any issues that may arise during the night shift.
Full Time and Part Time positions available.
Ability to work 11pm - 7am shifts. What you'll be doing: Serve as the primary point of contact for any maintenance emergencies that occur during overnight hours, such as power outages, water leaks, or equipment failures.
Troubleshoot problems and implement temporary solutions to minimize disruption to hotel operations until permanent repairs can be made.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and projects as assigned.
Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address any safety hazards or code violations.
Patrol the premises regularly to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and any follow-up required.
Communicate with management and other team members to provide updates on maintenance issues and ensure a coordinated response to any challenges.
What you bring: (Skills and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
Strong technical skills with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the needs of the hotel.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs.
Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs.
Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
