Team Description: Kitware's Data and Analytics team helps internal and external customers deliver their next data and AI workflows with our expertise in emerging web and software infrastructure technologies. The Data and Analytics team fosters a collaborative atmosphere where we pride ourselves on the proactive exchange of ideas. About the Projects: Kitware collaborates on a multitude of basic and applied research and development aimed to improve critical issues in today's world in order to advance health care, improve national security, combat human trafficking, and understand climate change. Our collaborators include top universities from around the world, national research labs, medical device manufacturers, car manufacturers, financial institutions, government agencies, and many others. The projects range from extending our open source libraries and applications to developing proprietary domain-specific vertical applications for a wide array of platforms including web and mobile devices. The Data and Analytics team focuses on building Python and JavaScript-based web applications that provide solutions for data management, analysis, and visualization. Some Tools We Use: Django - Postgres - Celery - Vue.js - GitHub Some Typical Types of Projects We Work On: - Building data management platforms for scientific datasets that allow researchers to store, query, and filter datasets for cohorts of interest and download the relevant raw data and metadata - Creating custom software systems to manage business processes for commercial customers wanting to automate manual workflows. The tasks can range from satellite image annotation to medical image segmentation and visualization for surgical planning. - Turning customers' specialized algorithms into well-engineered, reliable, and efficient systems to which end users bring their own data to process, typically including a visualization or reporting component for the results
