Position: Full-Time Lecturer, Multiple Subject Coordinator (1-Academic Year 2024-2025, renewable)Effective Date:August 19, 2024 (Fall Semester)Salary Range:The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $71,100 to $151,128 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). Academic and professional training and expertise in equity-minded and/or culturally responsive and sustaining practices.Evidence of potential for teaching effectiveness and excellence at the college-level in teacher education, with an emphasis on teacher preparation courses or post-baccalaureate courses in elementary education Experience with coaching teachers (preservice, in-service) in K-8 settingsDemonstrated capacity and potential for leadership (i.e., supporting other teachers, facilitating professional development), program coordination, and/or curriculum designDemonstrated capacity to develop partnerships with school district administrators (e.g., Long Beach Unified School District [LBUSD]).Demonstrated ability to effectively use of a wide range of instructional technologies pertaining to teacher education, including online teachingDemonstrated capacity and potential for working with accreditation agencies and/or community partnersExperience of successfully working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student bodyDuties:Teach a range of courses (may also be based on qualifications) including credential methods courses, but not limited to:EDEL 100 Introduction to Teaching and Learning in Diverse Contemporary Classrooms EDEL 200 Introduction to the Teaching Profession EDEL 300 Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Schools EDEL 380 Teaching and Learning in a Democratic Society EDEL 413 Developmentally Appropriate Teaching Practices EDEL 431 Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Schools EDEL 483 (Currently a capstone/teacher performance assessment support course) EDEL 442 Teaching and Learning Language Arts, K-8 (RICA) EDEL 452 Teaching and Learning Reading, K-8 (RICA) EDEL 462 Teaching and Learning Mathematics, K-8 EDEL 472 Teaching and Learning History-Social Science, K-8 (Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof) Coordinate the Multiple Subject Credential Program (MSCP); supervise and coordinate clinical practice in elementary education programs, including the following responsibilities:Collaborate with Department Chairs and other program coordinators in activities (e.g., curricula, recruitment and retention efforts, program evaluation) that will propel the MSCP program to become a leader in the practice of urban educationCollaborate with the Teacher Preparation Advising Center (TPAC) to ensure effective and ongoing student advisementCollaborate with the Office of Clinical Practice in maintaining and strengthening district partnershipsFacilitate MSCP program admissions process in collaboration with Teacher Preparation Advising Center and credential advisors. Ensure students are paired with and assigned faculty mentors/supervisors. Collaborate in facilitating administrative shift as needed.
