Job Description
Purpose: The Funding and Benefits Specialist is responsible for assessing and determining payment options so that appropriate candidates may trial and procure a Lingraphica device.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Acquires insurance benefit coverage via phone or online portal
Interprets benefit coverage information to determine anticipated costs for clients
Uses discernment and judgment to verify the quality of the information provided by insurance companies
Determines device trial funding options based on the patient's insurance coverage
Reviews benefits and documentation for funding and reimbursement accuracy prior to sale
Clearly communicates funding options in our CRM and to other Lingraphica staff
Maintains accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries
Proactively communicates with team members regarding identified potential issues and concerns
Maintains patient records according to HIPAA and Medicare guidelines
Tracks and trends issues to aid the team in resolution and prevention of repeat problems
Completes all administrative functions, such as data entry, associated with sales activities in a timely manner
Identifies and escalates priority issues and proactively follows up on tasks
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Skills, Competencies, and Experience:
Knowledge of insurance and funding sources for DME
Knowledge of common communication disorders and their etiologies
Efficient data entry/typing skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Customer service skills and professionalism
Attention to detail, ability to keep track of many possible circumstances and outcomes
Steady and consistent performance of routine activities
Ability to gather information and assess risk before making decisions
Ability to use a deliberate, methodical approach to solving problems
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED, required
Associates or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
2 years healthcare or insurance related experience, preferred
2 years customer service and/or administrative experience, preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred
Additional Information
Travel Requirements:
Travel to Lingraphica's home office and to cities within the continental United States for company related meetings and conferences required two times per year.

Incumbent works from home and is expected to maintain a safe, productive work environment with secure internet access. Must be able to operate a computer with or without a reasonable accommodation.
