The position will report directly to the Regional Vice President and be held accountable for all sales initiatives and operational efforts. BlueLinx is looking for a leader that will oversee all of the business operations, focusing on sales and growing the business. This person will have a number of direct reports and be in a position to determine the best direction for the facility. Requirements:Responsible for aligning local market strategy with corporate strategy to maximize long-term profit and return on working capital.Manages all aspects of logistics in assigned district.Manages and develops relationships with key customers in assigned districts and determines the strategy for value proposition and product penetration.Ensures all customer commitments are met and best practices are implemented for safety, safety certification, material handling, inventory management, and delivery.Oversee sales strategy and work hand in hand with operations (local, regional, and corporate) to ensure communication is strong and expectations in regards to quality, safety, and the BlueLinx brand expectation are appropriately defined and met.Responsible for managing sales representatives to improve profitability, product penetration, and product mix with all customers.Conducts joint sales calls with sales representatives to identify opportunities and maintain/build customer relationships (including sales representative coaching/mentoring).Manages inventory levels (including slow, inactive, liquidations/large buys and damaged inventory flow) and aligns local product mix with local market dynamics and product strategy.Leads team; selects/hires; develops objectives; coaches and evaluates performance.Ensures direct reports obtain applicable training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company. Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance. Maintains high team engagement.Qualifications:A bachelor's degree from an accredited University is strongly preferred.8 plus years of experience with a solid track record of enhancing sales AND operational involvement.Strong communication - communicating with executive and business partners, as well as front-line employees to gain trust and embrace the BlueLinx culture.Strategic planning, negotiation, financial acumen (specifically financial statements), strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative), forecasting, decision-making, innovation, change management, persuasiveness and strong interpersonal skills.Results-minded individual that can communicate the opportunity of growth to the entire staff and lead the sales team to strong opportunities.Building Material Experience is a huge plus.Strong leadership and teamwork abilities to function well at different levels in a team environment.Territory management and target marketing skills.Solid change agent. Comfortable with implementing change and discussing it with all parties involved.Ability to manage multiple priorities, sense of urgency, problem-solving and customer focus.Extensive product knowledge, consultative and relationship selling skills.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software and relevant sales systems technology.
