Duties include but are not limited to:
Plans, conducts, implements and monitors general recreational, personal development, structured therapeutic and entertainment activities for youth Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team and analyzes, assesses, evaluates, defines and recommends group and or individual treatment goals and activities. Observes participants during activities. Serves in instructional capacity for youth Prepares and maintains reports for treatment team regarding individual behavior and progress regarding individual recreational program activities. Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in recreation area (e.g., physical education); 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.



Or completion of associate degree in recreational area; 24 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must partake in paid, mandatory 4 weeks of training. Week 1 is held at IRJCF, weeks 2 through 4 are held in Orient, Ohio, 10-hour training days, Monday through Thursday. The state of Ohio covers transportation, meals and lodging.
