Job Posting: General Manager - Tool and Die Business
We are seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead our dynamic Tool and Die shop, specializing in custom metal and plastic parts. Our facility is equipped with both CNC and manual machines, and our team includes experienced toolmakers alongside younger operators in training. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products in small quantities, typically between 1 and 100 units.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations, including shift management, ensuring all work is completed on time and to the highest standards.
Run weekly meetings, daily huddles, and one-on-one sessions with team members to foster communication and address any issues.
Report key performance indicators (KPIs), health stats, and objectives and key results (OKRs) to the supervisor weekly.
Ensure all safety standards and high-quality preparation and handling procedures are consistently followed.
Supervise and train staff on operational techniques and customer service to maintain a high level of workmanship and client satisfaction.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance overall shop efficiency.
Ordering supplies and materials as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Previous leadership experience in the tool and die or manufacturing industry.
Strong operational knowledge, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and motivate staff.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills for addressing customer complaints and operational challenges.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
