The Calaveras Public Utility District's (CPUD) is seeking applications from qualified candidates to become the next General Manager of the District. The District has 12 full time employees and an operating and capital budget of $4.0 million per year and recently completed a Water Master Plan, Water Rate Study, Water Capacity and Connection Fee Study, and is in year 2 of a 5-year water rate plan. The Board of Directors is looking for a leader who can push the District forward by securing more construction grants to rebuild old aging infrastructure. The Board needs a leader who knows how to navigate through the many regulatory agencies such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD), the Division of Drinking Water (DDW), and other state and local agencies.

Ranging altitude from close to sea level in the foothills to more than 8,000 feet at the Sierra crest, Calaveras boasts such diverse geological landscapes that it's possible to ski in the morning and play a round of golf in the afternoon. The General Manager provides overall executive direction of all functions, services and activities of the District in support of Board Policies. In addition to day-to-day management of the District, the General Manager represents the Board of Directors and District in various governmental matters on a local, regional, and statewide basis. The ideal candidate for CPUD will be creative and confident when challenges are presented and will perform well under pressure. The annual salary for the current General Manager is $150,000. The salary for the incoming General Manager is dependent upon qualifications and experience of the selected individual. The District also offers a competitive benefits package.
