JOB SUMMARY TFC is a leading company in the solid waste industry, committed to environmental health, safety compliance, and operational excellence. We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple TFC facilities within a designated geography. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining Profit & Loss management across business units. The ideal candidate will be a strategic business leader with a strong understanding of the VA and Mid-Atlantic region solid waste industry marketplace.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive business strategies and marketing plans to achieve division growth objectives.Create and monitor budgets and operational metrics to diagnose and improve profitability.Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, DOT, and VA Department of Environmental Quality.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure operational excellence and safety compliance.Recruit, select, and hire employees, ensuring efficient and safe work activities within the division.Proactively attend and support safety meetings, promoting a culture of safety.Encourage and promote harmony among employees to enhance morale and create a positive work environment.Represent the company in interactions with community groups, elected officials, and government agencies.Set short and long-term goals for each department, ensuring accountability and performance.QualificationsMinimum of five years in a management/leadership role within the solid waste industry (Collection and/or Post collection).Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.VDEQ MRF operator's certification required within 12 months of position placement.CDL preferred.Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, DOT, and VA Department of Environmental Quality regulations.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to resolve employee relation issues with consistency and fairness.Proficiency in data management, analysis, and spreadsheet development.Strong time management skills and ability to diagnose and resolve operational deficiencies.BenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings planPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunities
