Saint Alphonsus Medical Center (SAMC) - Baker City has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgery physician to join a practice located in Baker City, Oregon.
Become part of a physician led 600+ provider multispecialty group with a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. This full-spectrum general surgery community practice offers rewarding surgery opportunities, including endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, balanced with a rural-paced lifestyle. The practice is located in a clinic space adjacent to the hospital. SAMC-Baker City is a Critical Access Hospital with 25 beds and two operating suites plus endoscopy.
SAMC - Baker City offers a 24/7 Emergency Department, 24/7 anesthesia support, and full ancillary departments (MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, Echo and Laboratory) with a newly remodeled clinic located inside the medical center building. Saint Alphonsus Medical Group provides regional network support and outreach for surgical subspecialties including surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, upper GI surgery, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, local primary care and specialty clinics, and medical oncology.
The schedule for this full-time employment opportunity is a traditional work week, Monday - Friday, with a minimum of 32 hours of patient contact time which includes clinic, procedures, and consults. The call requirement is 15 days on average of low call burden per month including two weekends at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Baker City.
The ideal candidate will be interested in joining a broad-spectrum General Surgery and Endoscopy practice.
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA general surgery residency program. Board certification through the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) - or obtain such certification within 7 years of employment . Obtain Oregon and Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC Baker City as well as other affiliated hospitals as needed Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
