If this sounds like you, we invite you to keep reading and apply! **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Design of deep foundation (drilled shafts, CFA piles, micropiles) and retaining wall systems (CIP, MSE, Segmental Gravity, Soldier Pile and Lagging, Soil Nail, etc.) + Formulation of design basis methodology and performance of hand/software calculations + Assist Senior Engineers with project execution, proposal, and report preparation. + Execute smaller projects to gain experience in project management. + Interpret field data and assign laboratory testing. + Interact with CAD staff on design details and plan notes. + Communicate results of engineering analysis, calculations, plans, and recommendations to clients + Other duties as assigned. **Working Conditions** + In addition to an office setting the candidate may be exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. + Some weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required. + May be required to drive hundreds of miles per day. + Ability to lift/move up to 75lbs. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree (B.S.) ABET or an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering or related field. + Engineering in Training (EIT) or ability to pass FE exam within 6 months of employment. + Familiarity with modern office tools including the use of computer-based programs Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. Any experience such as gINT, SLIDE, AutoCAD, LPILE, GROUP + Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in Tennessee within 4 years of employment. + Possession of a valid Tennessee driver license and an acceptable driving record **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's level degree or exposure to core civil engineering disciplines through coursework (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geotechnical engineering + Engineering/Construction background **Team:** Geotechnical Department **Work Type:** Full-Time **Location Type:** onsite
