Job summary
Seeking a Life Skills/Low-Incidence Disabilities Special Education Resource Teacher at Great Hearts America in Arlington, TexasProvide educational services to students with disabilitiesResponsible for planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement lesson plans• Modify curricula for special education students• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning• Manage student behavior• Establish and maintain communication with parents• Participate in staff development activities• Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s)• Stay updated on special education best practices• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from accredited university• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training• Demonstrate competency in the assigned subject area• Valid Texas Special Education certification• Experience working with students in a Life Skills self-contained classroom• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education• Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies• Knowledge of educational technology applications• One year student teaching or approved internship
