General Ledger Accountant Qualifications: 3-4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and fixed assets. Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business. Experience in construction, real estate, or waste management industries = a plus. Proficiency in Timberline/Sage CRE300 software = extra plus. Strong understanding of tax filings, including sales and property taxes. General Ledger Accountant Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). Reconcile fixed asset accounts and maintain depreciation schedules. Ensure timely filing of tax obligations (sales, property, use taxes). Assist with month-end close processes and journal entries. Collaborate with external CPA firms for annual tax preparation. Support accounts payable/receivable functions. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
