As a Global Controller your primary responsibility will be to ensure accuracy and integrity of business' financials and forecasts. The job holder will need to apply sound judgement to proactively identify and manage the business and financial risks. Ensure compliance with company's policies, accounting standards and other regulations, and lead the continuous improvement and development of the business' financial reporting.
Provide a second line of defence for controls and compliance across all sites, functions, and locations, acting as an independent voice within MDC on the robustness of our controls framework, internal and external policy compliance, and the integrity/accuracy of the Company's balance sheet.
Your responsibilities:
Lead global financial consolidations process for mid-size medical device component manufacturing company with annual revenue of $140MM and 500+ employees. Prepare global monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis including P&L, balance sheet, sales reporting, and other analysis. Partner with site Controllers in Mexico and Australia to coordinate all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process, including reviewing expense accruals, management reporting, and budget vs. actual variance analysis. Support Finance Director on cashflow modelling and projections and oversee that capital projects are within the approved budget. Maintain, administer, and oversee company credit card program and prepare reports required by regulatory agencies as needed. Coordinate with external accounting firms in the preparation of US Federal, State, and sales/used tax for quarterly/annual returns. Support new ERP implementation team in all the finance modules. Provide ad-hoc analyses and other project support to the assigned business unit(s) leadership teams. Requirements for the role:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education and experience. CPA or advanced degree preferred. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate accounting with some familiarity in manufacturing costing principles to understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of staff and management in the most professional and politically correct manner. Possesses strong presentation skills and is comfortable and adept at communicating to and influencing opinion in large groups. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office including expert skills in excel. Previous SharePoint experience a plus. Able to travel to Mexicali, Mexico if required to attend site meetings or work in different projects. How you will be rewarded:
