The Global Head of Executive Compensation (VP) will lead the overall design, implementation, and communication of Takeda's executive compensation and equity programs.
This individual will lead the development of interactions with the Board, Shareholders, Executives, Trustees, and oversight bodies for all executive compensation and equity program related matters.
They will develop materials for Compensation Committee review and discussion, as well as manage other strategic aspects of executive compensation and equity design and management.
In this complex global organization, this leader will work with finance, legal and global compensation to oversee Japanese equity program administration, including being responsible for the administration and management of the Japanese based annual equity programs for both internal/external directors and executives and employees.
How you will contribute:Provide oversight and management of key relationships with Executives, Board, Trustees and related oversight stakeholders for compensation.
Manage regulatory and compliance requirements related to multiple country stock listing.Develop, analyze, implement, and administer enterprise-wide executive compensation programs including base salary, short-term incentive, and long-term incentives.
Make recommendations for changes based on market trends and benchmark data.
Oversee the costing of programs and partner with finance to ensure that program costs are reflected in Company budgeting process.Direct all aspects of preparation for Compensation Committee meetings.
Determine agenda items (with input from the Head, Global Total Rewards and Compensation Committee Advisors), draft recommendations and/or reviews agenda items prepared by others.
Manage the work of Compensation Committee advisors, including providing feedback on materials, setting deadlines, etc.
Lead review meetings with Compensation Committee Chair, Head of Human Resources and Head, Global Total Rewards.
Attend Compensation Committee meetings and present to Committee, as appropriate.Manage the preparation of Directors' and executive regulatory filings and reporting, as required.
Maintain expertise on disclosure requirements and ensure Takeda information is disclosed appropriately.Work with the Head, Global Total Rewards and other members of the Total Rewards team to ensure executive compensation programs are aligned with the Total Rewards strategy and the business strategy.
Manage large-scale compensation projects and participate in broader Total Rewards initiatives, such as the year-end compensation process.Skills and Qualifications:Strong understanding of global executive compensation principles and governance, and how they vary across countries among global/local markets including industry best practices, laws and government regulations/requirements, frameworks and models, and market trends.
Must possess strong knowledge of compensation requirements, particularly in Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, and the U.S. (Takeda's hubs).Global progressive Executive compensation experience relating to all aspects of executive compensation.
Experience preparing and presenting recommendations for executive review; experience preparing and presenting board materials is essential.Builds cross-functional partnerships to work effectively with peers and partners in and outside of Takeda.
Proactively engages all stakeholders, including HR and other functions to build a rapport and earn broad-based support for initiatives.Responsive, client-service mindset; a sense of urgency when needed and ability to thrive and execute in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.Mentors and develops team members, enhancing their capabilities in executive and compensation management.The ideal candidate will be based in the greater Boston area, which is one of Takeda's primary global hubs.
However, Takeda is flexible regarding where this role may be based, noting the individual may be located anywhere in the US if they are willing to travel to Boston as needed.
Occasional travel to Japan will be required.

Base Salary Range:252,000.00 - 396,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position.
The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S.
based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives.
U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
