As Government Connectivity Product Manager, you will define and manage connectivity product strategy, priorities and roadmap, and drive cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle for the LEO network-based connectivity products and services targeting the Government market (Government, Defense, Intelligence & Security, Police, etc.).
You will collaborate with Customers/Partners and internal stakeholders such as Telesat Government Solutions (TGS), Engineering, Sales, and Sales Engineering to bring innovative services, and features to market using the Telesat LEO system as well as strategic technology partners.
You will also work closely with the Telesat LEO User Terminal team in driving required hardware products and solutions for these markets.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, technical, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
The ideal candidate has a collaborative style, with a strong sense of urgency and desire to get things done, and flexibility to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
Core Responsibilities Define Lightspeed customer offerings - Government Connectivity portfolio Own the Government connectivity product portfolio Translate underlying market trends and requirements into products and features Working closely with sales, sales engineering and marketing teams to engage prospects in all targeted market segments to better understand and validate product and solution needs Define solutions that maximize the addressable market and minimize the cost to develop Support pricing team with relevant inputs Drive launch of offerings Provide critical interface to the rest of the engineering team to define the product and service requirements Develop, document and maintain product and services requirements and features roadmap Drive go-to-market plan for government connectivity products Prepare technical inputs to marketing communications materials (whitepapers, etc.)
Provide input and content to the Sales Enablement organization for sales collateral (i.e.
training materials, fact sheets, etc.)
Support sales and BD teams in customer engagement activities (presentations, demos, etc.)
Lead solution ideation for complex RFIs/RFPs in target market Education and Experience A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in satellite related connectivity services to the US government agencies and similar agencies in rest of the world Experience with Government connectivity requirements and best practices for meeting those requirements Recognized as a technical expert in developing complex systems, solutions, network architectures to satisfy customer needs Strong analytical and research capabilities to evaluate opportunities and challenges and uncover new customer insights to improve product functionality and user experience Ability to rigorously prioritize opportunities, needs, and resources A degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for electrical or computer engineering and an emphasis in communication systems US citizen or work authorization Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understanding of security related needs from connectivity, e.g., Comsec, Transec, encryption Excellent knowledge of new technology trends and its applications for innovating in the marketplace.
Ability to explain complex subjects to a broad audience.
Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business objectives into technical product requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex engineering environment developing next generation communication network systems Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers.
Experience with business considerations and practical limitations related to developing new services, system design and implementation Ability to prioritize opportunities, needs and resources Excellent public speaker, comfortable in small and large group settings Fluent in English, written and oral.
