We are seeking a GPCR Molecular Pharmacologist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.
As a member of our Therapeutics Group, you will provide insight and lead GPCR in vitro biology in support of our drug discovery programs, from target assessment through lead optimization. We are a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes across therapeutic areas. We are supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers, as well as a large-scale computational infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Several programs we have worked on have achieved Development Candidates, including progression to clinical development and FDA approval.
Who Will Love This JobA molecular pharmacologist with an in-depth knowledge of GPCR pharmacologyA self-starter who has extensive experience with in vitro biology assay development, execution, and troubleshootingA drug discovery scientist who proactively identifies the correlation of heterologous system-based data with those of physiologically relevant cell and in vivo modelsA team player who enjoys cross-functional collaboration and adapts to changes in program direction, even under tight deadlinesA creative, results-oriented, and data-driven scientist interested in multiple disease areasAn excellent verbal and written communicator who can convey a compelling message to multiple functionsWhat You Will DoGuide in vitro biology strategies for exploratory and early-stage drug discovery effortsManage experimental design, development, and implementation of cell-based assays for small molecule drug discovery projectsIndependently train and manage CRO scientists for in vitro biology assay development and compound screening effortsOversee review, analysis, and interpretation of in vitro dataCollaborate with other functional area experts on hit-finding activities in the undrugged target spaceWhat You Should HavePhD in molecular pharmacology with 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries; 2-year postdoctoral work focused on GPCRs will be consideredIn-depth knowledge of the intricacies of multiple signaling pathways, biased signaling, and internalization/recycling of GPCRsBackground in in vitro biology assay development and execution as it relates to screening funnels for drug discovery programsExperience in cell-based techniques such as HTRF, NanoBRET, Tag-Lite, and Label-Free technologies (kinetic and endpoint modes)The know-how and perseverance in cracking and interrogating orphan GPCR pharmacology are preferredExperience managing external studies at CROs is preferredPay and perks:Schrödinger understands it's people that make a company great. Estimated base salary range: $120,000 - $160,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
