Position Summary The role of Graduate and Community Relations Manager is to streamline the recruitment, allocation, communication, and training of Career Center Staff volunteers at all IREL events. Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Graduate and Community Relations Manager gathers volunteer needs from the IREL team and works with all Career Center teams to coordinate support. The incumbent will ensure the success of each IREL event by gathering staff availability, clearly communicating volunteer placements and schedules, training volunteers to perform their roles on the day of the event, and further acting as a volunteer point of contact at each fair. The Graduate and Community Relations Managers should maintain specific knowledge of each distinct student staff role at the Career Center, and assign student staff to the events that will benefit their experience and fit within the goals of their student roles. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 1-3+ Years Planning and coordination experience in a higher education setting. (Preferred) Experience working with diverse populations (Required) Exceptional interpersonal and relationship development skills (Required) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (Required) Ability to work independently and on a team to accomplish IREL and Career Center goals (Required) Proficiency in designing and delivering presentations, training internal staff, and providing general student advising on topics related to industry knowledge, experiential learning, post-graduate experiences, and international opportunities (Required) Event planning and coordination experience (Required) Working knowledge of career services management software (Handshake, UConnect) (Preferred) Ability to assess event success and report outcomes (Preferred) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, employers, faculty, students, and alumni (Required) Must be able to work weekends and evenings and travel as needed. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
