Job Description
This position will provide support for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program in the Pamplin College of Business in the greater Washington, D.C., metro Area, reporting to the program director. The incumbent will primarily support the Evening MBA graduate students and program and will also be integrated with the operations of all MBA program options. While working in a team structure, the Graduate Program Coordinator will work closely with students, using good judgement in guiding students to degree completion. The candidate selected for this position will maintain a part-time, on-site presence and will be a primary interface for those coming to the MBA Programs office. A professional and collegial manner, and an interest in engaging with people, is beneficial as this person will be a primary contact to MBA Programs for student and faculty needs, and coordination with other Pamplin Graduate Programs.
Required Qualifications
Experience in program support in an academic or professional office environment; experience interacting professionally and supporting adult learners and graduate students; highly organized with an attention to detail; demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other types of software; must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a team and with the public; ability to treat confidential information appropriately and display sensitivity toward student concerns, proposing solutions to resolve conflicts; can prioritize multiple tasks, respond to communications in a timely manner, meets deadlines and work collaboratively with others; experience working in an entrepreneurial environment with an "all hands on deck" culture; and can interact collegially with Pamplin staff and faculty as well as other Virginia Tech departments.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Experience in a higher education environment; proficiency with Slate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or similar program; experience handling student records in a student database such as Banner; ability and experience in working with diverse populations; previous experience working with retrieving information and consolidating for reports, web related information entry and retrieval; knowledge of university academic, fiscal and operational policies and procedures, ability to think critically and problem solve, and demonstrated interest in student success.

Additional Information
Standard working hours are 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends as needed to support program events. Additionally, the position is hybrid but will require an onsite presence Monday through Thursday from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the NVC, Innovation Campus or other location.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
