The college encompasses eight departments , a network of more than 35 specialized research centers, consortia, and institutes , and an impressive array of over 150 research laboratories and groups. This environment supports a wide array of academic offerings, including more than a dozen undergraduate majors and an extensive selection of graduate programs .
The next Dean will inherit a strong foundation and a successful college poised for growth and enhanced impact. The Dean will join a dynamic and ambitious leadership team at the University that is striving to elevate UW–Madison to even greater heights of excellence in research and influence.
The successful candidate will continue the history of excellence in education and extend the upward momentum in research endeavors and discoveries. The next Dean will also enhance partnerships with public and private entities that provide opportunities for students and the research enterprise. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in a represented field; and a record of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service that qualifies the candidate for a tenured appointment at the rank of full professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
