Philanthropy Northwest is recruiting 3 Grant Administrators to join their team. For this position, you can be remote in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. You will travel within the region 30-40% of your time. 
About the EPA Thriving Communities Environmental Program EPA's Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking program, created by President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, the largest investment in climate action in history. This new grant program, which will make it easier for small community-based organizations to access federal environmental justice funding, responds to community feedback about the need to reduce barriers to federal funds and improve the efficiency of the awards process to ensure communities that have long faced underinvestment can access the benefits of the largest climate investment in history. Communities will be able to apply to a Grantmaker for a subgrant to fund a range of different environmental project activities. Philanthropy Northwest has been selected as the Region 10 grantmaker, serving Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington; and will collaborate with regional philanthropic partners to ensure the equitable distribution of funding to support community-led environmental justice work. 
Role Responsibilities: 
The Grant Administrators will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the EPA Environmental Justice Thriving Communities grantmaking program. This position involves partnering with community-based organizations to empower them to access and manage federal grant funds.  The Grant Administrators will partner with a multi-disciplinary team to provide clear communicate of expectations and requirements, collaborate to solve problems, and provide technical assistance with the goal of reducing administrative burden and increasing access to federal grant funding for environmental justice.  
Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with grantee partners to foster understanding of grant processes and systems particularly contractual and financial reporting requirements.  Provide support to grantees, collaborators, and internal teams regarding disbursement and spending timelines to optimize fund availability for grantee organizations. Collaborate with grantee partners and other stakeholders to identify and address potential challenges, fostering a solution-oriented approach.  Partner with grantees to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and compliance standards throughout the grant lifecycle. Compile and analyze grant data to support data and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Partner with grantees to track and reconcile expenses timely and accurately. Support documentation of the grant cycle, through database management, grant documentation, grant compliance and payment processing. Implement user-friendly data collection systems to simplify and streamline reporting for grant recipients. With guidance from the Director Community & Partnerships, support the peer review group in the application review process and meeting. In collaboration with technical experts support virtual and in-person meeting to provide information, resources and technical knowledge to support implementation of the project. Candidate Qualifications: 
Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience with federal or state government grant processes, including knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements.  Demonstrated success in working in a diverse and inclusive work environment that values racial equity and inclusion. Demonstrated experience in grants administration, accounting or related field, showcasing proficiency in managing grant funds, financial reporting, and compliance. Strong ability to communicate (translate) technical, budgetary and program details to grantees, applicants, and internal colleagues. Ability to think clearly, act decisively and synthesize program and operational issues. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with databases/CRMs like Salesforce, with experience in data entry, management, and reporting for grant-related activities. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite for documentation, data analysis, and communication purposes, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for business travel. Ability to travel frequently and drive long distances, adhering to safety regulations and maintaining composure.  Preferred: Experience in federal grant administration, specifically EPA processes, demonstrating knowledge of federal grant regulations, guidelines, and procedures. Proven track record of effectively collaborating with BIPOC communities and cultures in the Pacific Northwest, specifically WA, OR, ID, or AK. A capacity for self-reflection, humility, and curiosity, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented approach. Multi-lingual/multi-literate candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse communities effectively.  Salary and Benefits: The annual compensation for a full-time position includes a package of benefits consisting of medical, dental, retirement contribution by employer (6% of salary and additional up to 2% dollar to dollar match (up to $1,800/year) to employee contribution), professional development paid holidays and generous vacation policy, and flexible schedule.  
The annual salary range is $68,000- $78,000 depending on experience.
