Concern Worldwide US (CUS) is an independent affiliate of Concern Worldwide, with offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
CUS advances the Concern Worldwide mission through mobilizing financial and human resources, as well as influencing and activating networks in the US to elevate programs globally.


The Role:

Concern Worldwide US is seeking a Grants and Compliance Accountant who will be responsible for providing financial, accounting, compliance and other grant support services in order to meet the needs of the organization and its donors.


Reporting to the Manager, Grants and Compliance and working closely with other Concern US departments, our affiliated organization in Ireland, and with program staff overseas, the Grants and Compliance Accountant will focus primarily on pre and post award accounting and compliance duties which include but are not limited to: supporting the proposal submission process, grant accounting, reporting, , providing financial analysis in support of the various programs, and all matters relating to organizational compliance with private and US Government Awards.


The Grants and Compliance Accountant will also provide required expert support to the Programs and Operations teams and Concern Worldwide field staff in budgets and reports preparations to ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Pre-Award:

•Assists in pre-award activities including reading proposal guidelines; Preparing budgets, budget narratives and monitoring regulatory compliance requirements.


•Assist field staff in the preparation of narrative reports and required Annexes to support proposals.


Post-Award

•Perform in post-award activities including account creation in ERP system, recording drawdowns, recording award revenues, expenses, payables and receivables.


•Reconcile Accounts receivables, prepaids, unearned and payables by award number based on expenses incurred to the GL and submit the invoice to the donor.
Record adjusting transaction entries into financial systems.


•HQ salary and benefits allocations, effort reporting, invoice preparation, assist in payment processing, assist in cost transfers, grant projections, and account closing.


•Prepare quarterly federal financial reports (SF-425) to government private funders: ensuring the timely submissions of all finance and compliance reports.
Work with field staff to review and prepare backup for donor quarterly financial reports and payment requests.


•Provide support to the private fundraising teams regarding compliance and budgeting with private and corporate foundation grants.


•Provide trainings for Concern Worldwide staff in relation to US donor requirement, financial reports and deliverables, pre and post award financial tasks.
Conduct onsite monitoring visits and internal audits overseas to ensure compliance with donor.


•Review and assist in the preparation of re-budgeting requests and no-cost/Cost extension documents.


•Review Expense reports, credit card reconciliations and employee reimbursements for charges occurred for US donor charges.


•Maintain and update grants financial records and systems.


•Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager, Grants and Compliance, including general accounting support.


Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field that requires coursework in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

•Minimum 3 years' of Grant Accounting experience, working with analysis of large data sets and budget experience with at least 2 years' in USG Award administration.


•Demonstrated knowledge of Federal regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance, Cost Accounting Standards, US Federal Assistance & Acquisition Regulations, and major Federal funding agency guidelines.


•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and working as part of a collaborative team.


•Excellent computer skills and facility with using MS Excel (sorting, pivot tables, filtering, formulas).
Oracle NetSuite experience highly desirable.


•Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.


•Excellent communication skills, ability to translate and summarize numbers into an understandable narrative to others.


•Excellent organizational skills: the ability to multi-task, learn quickly, and work independently and productively in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment

•Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral with a diverse group of individuals.
Excellent ability to effectively liaise with and motivate a variety of people.


•Demonstrated experience in conducting monitoring and providing trainings.


•Skill in data entry and financial data management with minimal errors.


•Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence.


•Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.


•Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.


•Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.


•Commitment to humanitarian and international development work.


•Must be able to work in the NY office.


•Must be eligible to work in the US.
