Job Description

The Yard Worker position assists customers in locating and loading their purchased building materials. It is also the responsibility of the Yard Worker to ensure the customer is satisfied with the product and assist in making adjustments or substitutions. In between calls Yard Workers are responsible for stocking materials in the warehouse and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

This is a Full-Time job working 40 hours per week with overtime eligibility!
Store Hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Qualifications

Employees must possess the ability to perform the following duties:

Safely loading customers with materials in an efficient and courteous fashion
Maintain a knowledge of outside product codes
Keep the yard a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Check paperwork for accuracy
Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices
Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber's core values
Other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to lift materials that consistently weigh 60lbs or more, carry them a short distance, and load them into a vehicle. Additionally, applicants should have competent typing skills, proficient in general computer operations, and a positive and collaborative attitude.

Additional Information

This is an entry level position with a paid two-week training period and continued learning while employed. The two-week training is completed on site with your supervisor or at a Training Yard with the Training Department. The training for this position will focus on product knowledge, Point of Sale software, and yard operations.

This position is in a yard/retail environment. This position is largely active and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift. The noise level is moderate to loud.
