The Laborer Grounds Maintenance position supports the upkeep of the exterior and interior areas of the facilities.
The position is a hybrid with exterior work as the primary focus during the months of March-November and interior work from December - February.
Interior work is also completed when weather conditions are preventing exterior work.
The focus is on assisting the GMW (General Maintenance Worker) in their daily routines.
Groundskeeper Operation Performance - 85% Performs the day-to-day operations of the site grounds maintenance contract.
Operates gasoline-powered or non-powered ground maintenance and landscape hand tools to perform the following tasks:Cut grass, using walk-behind type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.
).Trim hedges and edges around walks, plant beds, and other areas designated within the contract statement of work, using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.Spray lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide under the training of an authorized licensed supervisor.Operate a spin trimmer (commonly known as a "weed eater").Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools.Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Cultivates and mulch planting beds.Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using a hose or activating sprinkler system.Picks up and carts away leaves, paper, or other litter.Removes snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using a shovel and snow blower.Spread salt on walkways and other areas.Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.Inspects roads, walks, fencing, and buildings on the exterior and inspects common areas on the interior of the building.Follows and applies all safety procedures to meet State and company standards; halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment and assisting in the activities of the safety committee by promptly reporting unsafe conditions to an immediate supervisor including wearing all personal protection equipment for assigned functions.Fosters an atmosphere that promotes Human Rights for all clients and ensures training, and incident reporting of all personnel regarding Human Rights violations.Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.Ensures the correct operation of all equipment. Assisting Building Operations - 15% During winter months, assists facilities operations team with interior tasks (i.e.
; common area inspections, inventory, mechanical room cleaning, etc.
)Follows and conforms to established company standard operating procedures.Fosters teamwork while balancing team and individual responsibilities; gives feedback to nurture a positive team spirit and quality performance and models dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.Ensuring minimum waste of assigned equipment products and materials.Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.Understand the difference between a policy and a procedure.
