Overview
Helps to maintain grounds of hospital and offsite locations consistent with the highest standards of the hospital.
Helps to maintain, repair, adjust and provide preventative maintenance for all Grounds Service equipment.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions) Assists in preparation and maintenance of mulch bed areas, re-mulching as needed or directed.
Assists in the connection and repair of irrigation equipment, draining and bleeding every fall and complete inspection and renovation every spring.
Cleans grounds and removes litter daily.
Cleans out drainage ditches, catch basins, and culverts, as needed or directed.
Clears snow from walks, parking lots, entryways and driveways immediately upon any accumulation.
Maintains parking lots and roadways, as needed.
Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walkways, parking lots, and flower and shrub beds as directed.
Helps with minor landscaping, as directed.
Plants and waters grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, as needed or directed.
Spreads salt and ice melting compounds on public passageways to prevent ice and snow buildup in accordance with department prioritization policy.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* Valid driver's license and must pass insurance investigation.
EDUCATION
* High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Preferred
* Experience with professional landscape firm and/or training 2 Landscaping Required
