We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Systems Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the groundwater extraction and treatment process. He/she will be responsible for operating and maintaining the treatment system, supervising industrial service support team members, and coordination with our client's engineering team. The treatment system may employ a number of physical and chemical treatment unit operations including: activated carbon filtration, clarifier with polymer injection, pH adjustment, multimedia filters, and filter press. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental field services, water treatment systems, industrial cleaning and maintenance, and good teamwork and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and Maintain pumping and control equipment of a pre-fabricated and plumbed groundwater pump and treat system.
• Trouble-shoot and repair system to maintain optimal operating performance.
• Maintain metering and monitoring equipment calibrations.
• Collect samples and perform basic field testing.
• Maintain documentation daily field logs and office reports.
• Perform routine laboratory analytical testing associated with day-to-day operation/optimization of the treatment process.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in environmental field operations and water, wastewater, groundwater treatment systems or related systems involving the physical and chemical treatment process.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance experience and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Experience with the start-up, operation, and maintenance systems that include chemical reactors, pumping, mixing, clarifiers, and filter press systems.
• Knowledge of automated control systems
• IL EPA Class K Operator license is a plus but not required immediately.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license, work vehicle will be provided.
• Minimum High School diploma, or equivalent, and 3+ years of related work experience, or a 2-year degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience
• Completion of a 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update- current preferred, expired acceptable) is preferred for industrial or hazardous wastewater operations
• Basic computer skills and experience with email and Microsoft office applications (Word/Excel)
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work under inclement weather conditions
