Essential Functions

Creates, implements and manages the annual group sales and partnership/sponsorship strategies. Sets financial target goals for both disciplines.

Responsible for securing new and repeat profitable group sales

Responsible for coordinating and executing all group events whether external or internal (team member functions).

Responsible for developing new group sales clients/markets and building client relationships through various sales efforts including cold calls, site visits and outside sales calls.

Responsible for protecting the integrity of the brand, company name, logo and other trademarks.

Responsible for generating outdoor corporate, promotional, sponsorship or group functions utilizing Fair Grounds' facility.

Actively assists Marketing in maintaining and coordinating activities associated with the automated sales of club house and grand stand boxes.

Negotiates profitable proposals and contracts for group events. Works with the legal department regarding the creation of partnership contracts and related documents.

Works with clients to identify their needs and communicates those to the Fair Grounds property leadership for successful execution.

Conducts routine site inspections, tours of facility and assists in the fulfillment of all events booked through the group sales office.

Provides exceptional customer service.

Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

Ability to work weekends and holidays if required to ensure the success of sales events and all special Live Racing events.

Creates customized partnership proposals based on potential partner's business objectives.

Develops and builds relationships with customers through interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service.

Works with Finance / Accounting departments on revenue reconciliations for groups and partnerships and insures all sales revenues are collected and accounted for, and booked in an expeditious time frame.

Works closely with F&B to coordinate proper execution of sales events.

Supervises and sets goals for sales coordinators.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Marketing or 5-7 years of experience.*
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regards to the implementation of current duties. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.
*Licenses/Certificates:

Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Louisiana Gaming License and Racing License.*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
