The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the heart of Downtown's historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts.
Your Day to Day Develop business through direct sales solicitation for an assigned territory or market segment. This role is for a sales professional with established sales goals.
Establish a client base through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to meet or exceed room night sales and revenue goals.Actively prospect and qualify new business.Achieve personal and team goals as assigned.Negotiate guest room rates and hotel services within approved guidelines; accurately produce and review all sales contracts and agreements.Assist in developing and implementing sales plans and participate in the annual budgeting and planning process.Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and clients.Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.Maintain client files and update information daily; produce monthly sales-related reports and forecasts.Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments.Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows and conventions; participate in sales trips to key markets.Follow up with clients regularly to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.Interact with outside contacts, including guests and corporate accounts, to ensure repeat business.Monitor and handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with policies.Perform other duties as assigned and may serve as "manager on duty" as required.What We Need From You Some college plus 1-2 years of sales or marketing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related degree preferred. Prior hotel sales experience preferred. Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
This job requires the ability to:
Frequently stand or move within and outside of the facility.Carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.Other qualifications include:
Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and employees.Reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork and reports.Mathematical skills for budgeting and profit/loss concepts.Problem-solving, reasoning, organizational, and training abilities.Ability to travel for workshops, tradeshows, and conventions.May require a valid Driver's License.May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.What We Offer The pay range for this role is $28.00 - $34.00 per hour, applicable for jobs performed in Los Angeles, California. This range may be modified in the future based on various factors including education, qualifications, and performance.
