Primary Purpose of the Position

The GSE Mechanic will be required to inspect and identify malfunctions and unserviceable components on aircraft support equipment. The GSE Mechanic will repair, troubleshoot diesel, gasoline, and turbine engines along with electric prime movers, hydraulic systems and pumps, heating, and air conditioner. The GSE Mechanic will work closely with the Operations Manager and Line Service Department to provide safe, mechanically sound GSE and facilities.

Essential Functions:

Comply with and ensure accountability for Company policies and procedures related to GSE standards, safety, and security procedures.
Establish, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule/unscheduled for the FBO equipment: two airline fleet, an auxiliary aircraft maintenance agency ASE and assist in fuel farm repairs.
Conduct bi-weekly fluid and operational checks of GSE while correcting malfunctions.
Perform detailed periodic maintenance of GSE to include inspection and service of hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, electrical, freon and safety systems.
Troubleshoot and repair individual components in the previously mentioned systems.
Monitor stock of necessary parts and fluids in accordance with the PMS and consistent with guidance from the Operations Manager and General Manager
Oversee QC program in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform facility maintenance as needed.
Maintain parts and tools inventories.
Ensure a culture that promotes first class customer service and safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, usage of Baldwin SMS, monthly service/safety meetings, training, and documented service/safety procedures.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and business partners.
Additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager or General Manager from time to time.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of progressive management experience including maintenance of FBO equipment.
Ability to safely operate a multitude of aircraft support equipment (i.e.: Tug, tow bars, GPU, air start, floor machine, potable water carts, 5 and 7k fuel trucks, belt loader, LAV cart, forklift)
Must have a strong commitment to results.
Working knowledge of AC/DC powered systems.
Strong Computer skills in MS Office.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical ability.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
FLSA Status:

This position is nonexempt.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; chemicals including aviation fuels, oils, and lavatory fluid. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Travel:

This position requires minimal travel.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends.
