The Guest Service Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience for all patrons of the Victoria Recreation Center (VRC).
This position will greet and assist visitors, process membership and program registrations, manage cash and credit card processing, monitor proper use of the VRC and ensure the lobby space is tidy and inviting to our members and guests.

Greet VRC patrons and guests, in a friendly and courteous manner.
Check in and register program participants, members and facility rental customers, using the city's registration system and cash register.
Collect participant fees and facility sales of programs, membership or punch card passes according to facilities policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate balancing and verification of shift revenues at the beginning and end of each shift.
Maintain a clean and welcoming front desk and lobby environment, including, but not limited to window cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, etc.
Provide assistance with programs and events which may include registration, phone calls, emails, set-up and clean-up.
Monitor the Fitness Center, Gymnasium, and the walking track usage as well as assist with enforcing rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Actively engage with members and guests to promote involvement in our services, programs, and memberships.
Request suggestions and feedback to pass along to the immediate supervisor.
Effectively communicate with the ice arena staff on an as needed basis.
Must be able to read and follow written instructions and diagrams.
Basic computer skills with some knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Ability to apply judgement and discretion to resolve problems, public relation concerns, and personnel and customer service issues in accordance with City policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with members and guests.
Ability to perform basic computer functions, use a telephone system and perform cash transactions.

Ability to keep the front reception and lobby area clean and welcoming.
Our typical staff shifts include the following daily hours:
Morning: 4:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Daytime: 10:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Evening: 4:45 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.
At this time we are seeking to fill the following shifts:
Monday through Friday:
Morning: 4:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Daytime: 10:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
