What You'll Be Working On As our testing associates on the ground, you will be working on a foundational operation for our business: testing our machines as a part of our development and deployment cycle. There may be opportunities to participate in assembling, re-working and servicing our machines, depending on the needs of our business and your level of technical aptitude. We are looking for folks who are detail-oriented, care about the quality and cleanliness of one's work, and will bring a collaborative spirit to our small team!
This is a non-exempt, hourly position, and will start as a 6-month contract. This role will primarily be based at the company's office, located in San Carlos, CA.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working with electro-mechanical equipment and machines. In addition, the employee will be exposed to the conditions in the production area and test areas as controlled by the HVAC system and required for the area. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate to extreme, and ear plugs are recommended and provided. Close-toed shoes will be required, as well as adherence to other dress code policies outlined in our employee onboarding handbook. Our COVID policy requires either proof of vaccination (latest booster made available September 2, 2022 not yet required) or daily COVID testing (rapid tests provided by Brewbird), with PPE optional in either case.
Responsibilities: Onboard in the first 10 days to understand how our machine testing procedure and how it plays into the end-to-end product development lifecycle, able to work in a timely and deadline-oriented manner.Assist in actively diagnosing problems and collaborating with the team toward repair and test procedure solutions.Be hands-on with testing our machines, while adhering to our test standards and looking for feedback opportunities to continue improving the process.Document notes and data in appropriate forms and spreadsheets for both testing and machine assembly.Always work and dress according to quality and safety standards, and ensure they are being followed; includes maintaining the cleanliness of the work area during and at the end of every work shift.Qualifications: Ability to test and troubleshoot equipment; ability to assemble, repair and service a plus.Ability to multitask and liaise with engineers.Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills.Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which may include bending and picking up heavy (=50 lb) items and standing for long periods up to 8 hours.Ability to effectively manage time, including being on time for the workday and meeting deadlines as outlined by your manager.$20 - $25 an hour
