Aloha! Four Seasons Resorts Lana'i is seeking a Hawaiian Culture Manager.
JOIN OUR 'OHANA The Hawaiian Culture Manager manages the day to day operation, staff, tour schedules and administrative duties of the Cultural department. We are looking for individuals who have a solid knowledge of Hawaii and Hawaiian culture. They are hands on and have good communication skills and are able to evidence professionalism and adaptability. Effective communication is paramount with guests and peers.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing, training and monitoring staff and supporting staff development
Ensuring staff adhere to safety regulations
Ensuring that equipment and facilities are safe and that guests are instructed in safety procedures
Assessing risk and acting upon any issues arising from this assessment
Providing instruction in a specialist area
Undertaking courses to keep your own qualifications and skills current
Planning appropriate programs of outdoor activities for guests and groups
Preparing educational resources for staff
Dealing with queries, problems and complaints from guests
Purchasing, checking, maintaining and preparing equipment
Evaluating the work of the Centre and planning new activities to meet changing demands
Monitoring weather and environmental conditions
What We Look For:
Previous management experience preferred.
Technical skills and knowledge required (Systems: Excel, Word, Publisher). Hotel systems.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in activities outlets required.
Knowledge of outdoor activities preferred.
Knowledge of the Hawaiian Culture and Lana'i required.
Solid knowledge of the location and have a hands on leadership approach.
Organizational, motivational and leadership skills, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to create, plan and manage activities effectively, strong business knowledge, analytical skills and interpersonal skills, and up-to-date knowledge of computer programs and applications.
Energetic, approachable, flexible and creative.
Candidates must have valid work authorization for the U.S.
