Job Title: Preservation Coordinator
Job Description:
As Preservation Coordinator, you will lead the coordination of preservation, storage, and maintenance activities for Dartmouth Library's collections. It will be your responsibility to leverage the expertise of staff to design and implement preservation policy and procedures in all digital and physical formats in alignment with best practices and institutional needs. You will coordinate and oversee collection care and management projects across Dartmouth's libraries to optimize access and use of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the coordination of preservation, storage, and maintenance activities for all library collections
Leverage the expertise of staff to design and implement preservation policy and procedures
Ensure policies and procedures are in alignment with best practices and institutional needs
Coordinate and oversee collection care and management projects across all Dartmouth's libraries
Optimize access and use of materials
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
Experience in preservation, conservation, or collection management in a library or museum environment
Familiarity with digital and physical preservation practices
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and institutions
