Position Summary:
The role of Head of Design & Research will lead the team of Product Designers and Researchers to shape the design strategy across Goodleap's entire product portfolio. This role demands a leader who excels in creating clarity, navigating complex domains, and thinking systematically about design. As the ultimate owner of Goodleap's design expression, the Head of Design will play a crucial role in fostering our people-first culture, encouraging contributions from all team members to elevate our company and products. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving innovation and setting the design vision for Goodleap
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead design strategy and vision for Goodleap's products, ensuring they're relevant, useful, and delightful
Oversee the design process from concept to implementation, fostering collaboration between design, engineering, and product teams
Develop scalable design systems that enable consistent, high-quality experiences across all touchpoints
Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for customer needs in all product decisions
Stay at the forefront of design trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices
Mentor and develop a diverse team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and inclusion
Present design solutions to executive leadership and influence product strategy
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
10+ years of experience in UX design, interaction design, or similar roles
Proven track record leading design teams and influencing product strategy at senior levels
Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile platforms
Experience designing for fintech, sustainability, or consumer social is a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts
Proficiency in design thinking methodologies and rapid prototyping techniques
Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field
$240,000 - $260,000 a year
In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus and equity.
