Position Overview: This leadership role is responsible for establishing, launching and executing a new digital discovery approach for creating strategic and efficient paths for new Wealth Management digital products and initiatives that prioritizes directions and opportunities. The Strategic Discovery approach will be inclusive of exploratory methodologies, deriving actionable insights, creation of "art of the possible" proof of concepts, and opportunity definition, to inform the direction of new Wealth Management's digital experiences and services.
As Head of Digital Insight and Opportunity, you will be responsible for the intake, prioritization, and strategic alignment of new digital opportunities for Wealth Management digital teams, ensuring that business needs are recognized and creatively and effectively explored. You will blend opportunity strategy, management and product strategy, emphasizing and leading the exploration and translation of emerging insights into actionable initiatives that align with Northern Trusts' strategic goals. You will scope, summarize and manage inputs from multiple stakeholders, leading discovery initiatives that are set up for successful execution by shepherding early-stage hypothesis, validating their potential impact, and opportunity, and finally coordinating with execution teams for development and delivery. By orchestration of cross functional collaboration and establishing a streamlined discovery framework, you will enable efficient assessment and advancement of high-impact digital opportunities that deliver measurable value.
This role will manage a team to assist in Discovery projects and will act as an innovation and client centric champion with a focus on collaboratively capturing, establishing and promoting insights, as well as best practices and thought leadership around digital experience discovery, insights, opportunity and strategy.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the exploration and validation of strategic opportunities for new Wealth Management digital initiatives.Help to develop and inform product strategies and roadmaps that align with business goals and client expectations.Work closely with capability leaders and leadership stakeholders to help build a multi-year roadmap to develop a modern and efficient digital experience that both meets business objectives and delights customers.Create and maintain a portfolio of Northern Trust Wealth Management digital products that demonstrates Northern Trust's commitment to world class client service and is inclusive of future product strategy and strategic opportunities in collaboration with CPX leads and Group Heads.Provide collaborative leadership in guiding market and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.Collaborate with business leadership and cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, experience design, technology and operations to drive the delivery of high-quality insights and opportunities that align with strategic objectives, business goals and continuous improvement.Clearly communicate vision, strategy, and progress to leadership, business stakeholders, and peers across DCPX.Collaborate with fellow leadership and broadly to establish clear objectives and benchmarks for measuring the success and improvement of digital experiences.Responsible for fostering a culture of innovation, open collaboration, and empowerment in collaboration with leadership.Lead and inspire the Discovery team and teams you collaborate with to approach business opportunities with creativity and strategic thinking, bringing innovative ideas to life and partnering to drive competitive differentiation and growth.Develop centralized inventory of digital opportunity insights, ensuring information is up to date, easily accessible, and organized by relevance, insight, or topic.Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent business experience.10+ years of experience in digital strategy, discovery methodologies inclusive of research, digital delivery, rapid prototyping, and/or product management, inclusive of wealth management or similar relevant industries.Extremely strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.10+ years of experience as an effective team leader, with a proven track record managing multiple strategic crafts.Experience working with growth initiatives and insight in the capacity of a manager or consultant.Proven track record of managing and leading high-performing teams.Experience working within cross functional teams, in areas of: Product Experience, Strategy, and Product Development, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Technology, and Vendor Management.Leadership track record within high functioning cross functional digital teams.Superb interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of strong collaboration and exceptional communication skills to influence cross-functional teams of all levels, including executive audiences.Exemplary business judgment and thought.Demonstrable creative problem-solving skill for strategic projects.Significant demonstrable experience across the product strategy and discovery, delivery lifecycle and product operating model, with the ability to translate early-stage conceptual ideas into structured actionable deliverables that drive tangible outcomes.Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
