Position Overview:
We are searching for a dynamic and innovative Head of Research and Development with a true "mad scientist" mentality. This individual will lead our R&D department, driving the creation of groundbreaking exhaust systems that set new industry standards. The ideal candidate is a seasoned expert with a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, tuning, and market trends, combined with an insatiable curiosity and a passion for crafting unparalleled automotive products.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and inspire the R&D team to achieve exceptional results and foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for research and development that aligns with company goals and market demands.
Identify and prioritize new project opportunities and innovations that align with automotive enthusiast trends and advancements.
Innovation & Development:
Drive the design and development of cutting-edge exhaust systems, focusing on performance, efficiency, and aesthetic appeal.
Utilize advanced materials, technologies, and engineering techniques to push the boundaries of exhaust system capabilities.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure prototypes and final products meet rigorous performance and safety standards.
Market Insight:
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform R&D strategies and product development.
Engage with automotive enthusiasts, industry experts, and influencers to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and marketing to ensure seamless integration of new products.
Communicate R&D progress, challenges, and successes to senior management and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving & Experimentation:
Embrace a hands-on, experimental approach to problem-solving and product development.
Encourage and lead innovative testing methodologies and unconventional approaches to achieve breakthrough results.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred).
Experience:
3 years research and development experience in the automotive aftermarket with a proven track record of developing high-performance exhaust systems or similar automotive components.
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, exhaust system design, tuning, and market trends.
Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, and hands-on engineering skills.
Passion:
A genuine enthusiasm for automotive innovation and a deep-seated passion for crafting exceptional products for automotive enthusiasts.
CAD/Program experience:
Utilize tools such as MATLAB, FEA, Simulink, and SolidWorks for analysis and design.
