The Team You Will Be a Part Of:
The Supply and Logistics team ensures optimal levels of materials and stock to maintain effective inventory control and support company sales. This team organizes deliveries to meet deadlines and customer expectations while monitoring and managing the flow of materials and products from suppliers through the organization efficiently.
This Role in Summary:
The Final Mile Operations and Strategy Leader plays a pivotal leadership role within our Supply Chain team. This role will drive the strategy and execution of Whirlpool's appliance delivery network across all our brands in the U.S. This leader is responsible for delivering daily operational excellence while reshaping and diversifying the final mile landscape. This leader will champion the transformation of our final mile landscape, including delivery and installation logistics providers, the local distribution center network, and the management operating system. The goal is to create a competitive, resilient, and customer-centric last-mile supply chain. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, servant leadership, and a commitment to challenging the status quo, this leader will elevate Whirlpool as a leader in the appliance delivery industry.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Manage daily operations, including DC functions, final-mile delivery, and installation, ensuring on-time performance, customer satisfaction, and efficient use of tools to enhance quality.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, standardize processes, and improve delivery reliability, using data to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Set the strategy to guide the organization through final-mile transformation, preparing for partner diversification, network consolidation, and standardized work.
Identify and implement innovative technologies to optimize operations, automate tasks, and enhance the customer experience in collaboration with technical teams.
Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to align on goals and drive business success.
Ensure a seamless, adaptable white-glove delivery and installation experience that meets evolving customer expectations and supports Whirlpool's strategies.
Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and inclusivity.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of experience driving transformation and innovation in logistics and supply chain operations
5+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on complex final-mile delivery
Experience in managing vendor relationships and optimizing third-party logistics partnerships
Experience with partner diversification and network optimization in logistics
Willingness to travel as needed, up to 20%
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
MBA or Masters Degree
Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing standardized work, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Proven knowledge in advanced data analytics tools and techniques for operational performance improvement
Strong understanding of industry-specific best practices in logistics and supply chain
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and establish strong relationships with external partners
Proven financial skills, including the ability to conduct trade-off analysis and make decisions that balance the overall business needs
Proven success in leading large-scale transformations in logistics or supply chain operations
