Computation is revolutionizing drug discovery. Advances in bigchemical data, massive computing power, artificial intelligence, andmolecular dynamics simulation are changing the way we develop newdrugs. At 1910 Genetics, we put computation at the heart of drugdiscovery, blending expertise in computational chemistry, structuralbiology, pharmacology, genetics, data science, and softwareengineering to develop drugs for previously undruggable targets.
1910 Genetics is seeking a Head of Platform Technology, who would be responsible for producing best-in-class, high quality, and proprietary wet lab data sets that are purpose built for 1910's AI platforms - SUEDE (AI-driven ultra large scale virtual screening for Novel Hit Discovery), BAGEL (AI-driven generative chemistry for Hit to Lead), QAPTAIN (Quantum ML platform for lead validation, and MOTOWN (AI-driven ADMET predictive modeling for lead optimization).
1910's Head of Platform Technology will lead the integration of our AI/computational drug design platforms with our wet lab activities which consist of the following:
Wet Chemistry: synthetic route planning, molecule synthesis, analytical characterization, compound management, and management of external chemistry CROs
Wet Biology: robotics, automation, in vitro assays (target-based and phenotype-based biochemical and cell-based assays), and in vivo assays (PK, PD, and PK/PD).
The ideal individual has a PhD in Biochemistry , Medicinal Chemistry, or Organic Chemistry and 15+ years of industry experience leading automation and high throughput biology/chemistry for target ID, Novel Hit Discovery, Hit to Lead, and Lead Optimization campaigns across multiple target classes and disease areas as a member of the senior leadership team of a small to mid stage biotech company or the R&D organization of a large pharmaceutical company.
