Job Description: The Head of Product Investment Analytics will lead a newly consolidated team to efficiently develop a comprehensive product offering, supporting a diverse set of requirements across Asset Managers and Asset Owners. This role is key to delivering Northern Trust's Whole Office vision, where we empower our Asset Owner and Asset Manager clients with data, analytics, and insights across their total portfolio. The Product Lead will leverage the strengths of the existing Product Management and Product Development teams to form a new, global team that meets the complex needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities: Establishes and executes a strategic vision for their product suite, including maintenance of a long term strategic roadmap. Maximizes our technology investment by simplifying and rationalizing duplicative capabilities across applications. Develops and implements a comprehensive commercial strategy in partnership with relevant business units and sales teams that covers all aspects of the product suite. Works with relevant business unit leadership and stakeholders to ensure a smooth and integrated product experience for clients and prospective clients taking into consideration the operational overhead. Implements and manages product for the centralization of index data acquisition and vendor compliance. Keeps up with industry trends and regulatory changes, using insights to drive product development and innovation. Works across business, technology and operations to drive the cloud strategy development and implementation. Works with Sales, Marketing, and relevant business units to develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy. Conducts strategic market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive threats, adapting product strategies accordingly. Sets and tracks key performance indicators, aiming for excellence in client satisfaction, product performance, and financial results. Acts as a brand ambassador, representing the organization at industry events, business development efforts and in client engagements, building relationships with key stakeholders. Experience Required: Over 15 years of experience in product management within the financial services industry, with a focus on asset servicing. Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA preferred. Experience with modern product management and development best practices, such as lean startup, design thinking, and user research. Experience with performance measurement software(s) typically associated with front office performance (E.g. FactSet or similar). Experience with total fund solution software(s) in the Asset Owner space that include performance measurement modules (E.g. Caissa, Front Office Solutions, Solovis or similar). Experience managing third party vendor relationships for data acquisition, managed services or similar. Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view. Comprehensive knowledge of asset servicing markets, including expertise in Investment Analytics, Performance, Alternative Analytics, Exposure, and Alternative Assets processing. Strong understanding of investment management application and data architectures and modern technology such as public cloud, microservices, and data mesh principles. Experience with modern software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban. Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse, global teams. Exceptional strategic planning, communication, and organizational skills. Proven record of accomplishment in developing commercial strategies and enhancing product profitability.
