Head of Software Engineering - Kohler Ventures Work Mode: Hybrid Location: Hybrid 3-5 days / week onsite in Palo Alto, CA or New York City, NY

We are seeking a Head of Software who is passionate about designing and building engaging digital consumer mobile and web experiences powered by high-performing, secure, and robust back-end platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record building and scaling software organizations and launching high-quality products on time.
In your role as Head of Software at Kohler Ventures you will: Lead the entire software engineering function and global team in an exciting, entrepreneurial business and product build.Manage a large scope across apps, cloud backend, firmware, and business solutions.Work collaboratively across teams and functions as a core member of the Kohler Ventures Senior Leadership Team.Direct the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software in line with customer and regulatory requirements.Lead Agile software development processes to translate needs from customers into working software.Ensure software architecture is secure, scalable, robust, and highly functional.Obtain the necessary regulatory certifications and audits.Make and implement platform decisions and discover new technologies that yield competitive advantage.Set and deliver success metrics for the software team including velocity/delivery, code quality, and operational effectiveness.Own software quality assurance and testing, including automated functional and scalability testing.Ensure an appropriate continuous integration and delivery pipeline is in place.Recruit, excite, and develop top-tier software engineering talent as part of the organization growth plan.Skills/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field from a leading university.
Master's preferred.10+ years of experience in a leadership role in a rapidly growing organization with:Demonstrated entrepreneurial tenacity, global team leadership, results orientation, and problem-solving skills.Exemplary execution skills to establish software development teams and leading practices.Excellent people management skills with the ability to attract, retain, and develop top talent.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.Strong financial management skills with the ability to identify and track efficiencies.Strong technical acumen and judgment.Prior experience launching a consumer product or business.Management of teams of 20+ individuals.3.
7+ years of hands-on technical experience in:
Native software mobile apps in iOS and Android for consumers.AWS and relational/non-relational databases in a regulated environment.Operating systems and firmware development.AI data pipelines and MLOps.Consumer electronics, smart home devices, or medical devices.Automated testing to ensure high-quality software.Regulatory documentation.Business solutions development for ecommerce, SAP, Salesforce.4.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. The approved base salary range for this position is $176,500 - $277,400.
The actual base salary offered may be higher depending on various factors.
This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5%-30% of base salary for the San Francisco Bay area.
The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $229,450 - $360,620 depending on location.
